We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.

- T.S. Eliot

I provide therapy for children and teens who have experienced loss or trauma. Oftentimes loss, trauma, bullying or learning difficulties show up in other ways – including behavioural issues at home, sleep disturbances, non-communication with parents, withdrawal from activities, or a dislike or refusal to go to school. In my work with children and teens, I have found that the issues that are affecting your child’s life can show up as feelings of anger, sadness, loneliness, detachment, or confusion. This can be hard on both you as the parent and your child.

The most important part of therapy for kids or teens is the work that we do to build trust. It’s important for them to have a space where they feel like they can express the complex emotions they are feeling without feeling judged.

I have over 5 years of experience providing counseling for kids and teens, and I love seeing their transformation through the use of art therapy, play therapy and talk therapy. I utilize the creative process and psychodynamic approaches to help children and teens gain the skills and resources they need. I offer one-on-one in person support. I support children and teens with generalized anxiety, social anxiety, grief, trauma, acute and chronic illnesses, navigating relationships, Intellectual/ Development Disabilities, social skills, and major life transitions.

I understand how hard it can be to find the right therapist for your child or teen. When we get started, Patent(s) will be present in the first 1 or 2 sessions. Once we start working together, their sessions become confidential and part of the trust building process between your child and myself.
Therapy for children and teens can have a lasting effect on how they view the world, offer comfort in a time of emotional and physical challenges, and give them a space to express the things that are making them feel hurt, disconnected, and alone in the world.

As a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, my areas of focus include:
Child Therapy | Teen Therapy | Anxiety issues for children and teens| childhood trauma \ Grief | Acute and Chronic Illnesses | Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

If you’re ready to get started, I always offer a 15-min consult to see if we are a good fit. I’d love to help you or a member of your family get the help they need to live better.

I enjoy getting messy when I make art! I find that getting into the materials can deepen the experience. When I make my own art, I love to use watercolor! When I am not working, I am typically going to concerts, sporting events and spending time with my friends and family. My husband and I are recently married, we are avid travelers and love to explore new locations!
