Payment & Insurance

Creative Arts Therapy Source is out-of-network with insurance companies, however our dedicated billing specialist assists patients with all aspects of the insurance process, from checking your benefits, to filling eligible claims on your behalf.

We would be happy to verify your out-of-network benefits before your first visit. Unlike many out-of-network providers, we submit claims on your behalf, and manage most insurance correspondence regarding your claims.

We can accept the following insurance plans out of network based on your individual plan:
Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Emblem, GHI, Oxford, and United. It is possible for services to be covered in full or part when you use your out of network benefits.

Rates & Payment

If you have an insurance deductible or wish to opt out of using your insurance you can expect to pay between $180 and $275. Rates are dependent on the therapist’s level of certification as well as whether you are attending individual or couples therapy. We accept payment via credit/debit card, HSA & FSA cards.

Please contact us if you have questions about insurance, rates or payment. You can also schedule a free consultation online where we can check your benefits.

The length of our therapy sessions varies. Individual therapy sessions are 45 minutes and couples therapy sessions are 60 minutes. In terms of how long you may be in therapy, the answer is “It depends”. Many factors influence the length of therapy including symptoms, your life situation, values, expectations, and how much work you are willing/able to do. Most clients work with us for 6-12 months.

Yes. All new therapy clients must fill out our complete intake packet when you schedule your first appointment. All paperwork is completed on our secure online client portal and must be completed at least 48 hours prior to your first appointment.

While we understand there are times you need to use insurance (and we fully support that!) as soon as insurance pays: they have a right to see your records any time they would like, you must have an official mental health diagnosis, and they have control over how long you may attend therapy. Again, we at Creative Arts Therapy Source fully support using insurance and having a diagnosis when it helps someone access services and get more support.
