We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
- T.S. Eliot
I provide therapy for adults who have experienced a significant loss.
Oftentimes unresolved grief shows up in other ways – including anger, anxiety, addiction, depression, isolating and withdrawal from activities that were once enjoyed. In my work with grief and loss, I have found that the issues that are affecting your life can show up as feelings of sadness, loneliness, detachment, or confusion. This can be a heavy burden for you to carry throughout your life.
The most important part of therapy after a loss is the work that we do to express emotions, find meaning and adjust to the new reality. It’s important for you to have a space where you feel like you can explain the complex emotions you are feeling without feeling judged.
I have over 10 years of experience providing counseling for adults reeling from a loss and I love seeing their transformation through the use of art and talk therapy. Art therapy adds a powerful layer of communication in the sessions that will underscore what you communicate verbally or reveal what is too painful for you to utter. I offer one-on-one support and Group Therapy. I support adults experiencing grief and loss from death, adoption, or any other major life transition
I understand how hard it can be to find the right therapist. My number one goal is to provide a safe, soothing space for you to feel free and unburdened by the weight of the emotions you have been carrying in the wake of your loss.
Therapy can have a lasting effect on how you view the world, offer comfort in a time of emotional challenges, and give you a space to express the things that are making you feel hurt, disconnected, and alone in the world.
As a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist my areas of focus include:
Grief and Loss | Support for Adoptees | Anxiety issues for teens and adults | Trauma | Chronic Medical Illness
If you’re ready to get started, I always offer a 15-min consult to see if we are a good fit. I’d love to help you or a member of your family get the help they need to live better.
I like coffee. Actually, I love coffee. Hitting up a great coffee shop to listen to some live music or connect with friends over a delicious cup of coffee is heaven in my book! Speaking of books, I also love to read short stories and memoirs, and I have probably seen literally every documentary on Netflix. Sometimes the truth really is stranger than fiction, wouldn’t you agree?
Offering in-person art therapy on Long Island and online therapy across New York and New Jersey.
