When you’re hoping to start a family and discover you’ll need to explore alternative routes to conception, you open the door wide to uncertainty, disappointment, and grief. Each time an opportunity to conceive presents itself, it’s impossible not to become hopeful for a successful outcome. But each passing month with no success marks another missed chance to get pregnant.
Each time your physical, emotional, and financial sacrifices don’t lead to conception, your grief can intensify. The longer your journey takes, the more your vulnerability has the potential to cause anxiety and depression that can be difficult to manage alone.
Rather than try to explain the fertility journey to someone who has never walked in your shoes, perhaps you are looking to connect with others in a group setting who share a similar experience: Women who know how it feels to feel physically disconnected from their bodies, suffer from decision fatigue, and must contend with an ongoing cycle of hope and disappointment.
Creative Arts Therapy Source is pleased to offer a seven-part workshop series designed for women who need emotional support, connection, education, and helpful coping strategies along their fertility journey. Each one-hour workshop will provide group counseling focused on different aspects of fertility, such as how to cope with decision fatigue, the benefit of boundary-setting, and managing the uncertainty inherent in the process.
Our fertility workshop will be held monthly and can be attended individually or as an ongoing series, offering you the flexibility to attend as many or as few as you like. Every month, we will focus on the unique challenges of fertility treatment and offer helpful takeaways you can apply to your journey. The topics we’ll cover include:
