About Us

Creative Arts Therapy Source is a group private practice of Licensed Creative Arts Therapists offering a range of expressive therapies to support healing in ways that go beyond words. Our team of therapists are specialized in art, movement, drama and play. Our dedicated therapists are committed to supporting children (ages 4 and up) and teens to work through challenges in developmentally appropriate, safe and meaningful ways.

Position Description

The Licensed Creative Arts Therapist will provide in person therapy to children and teens at our Garden City, NY location.  

  • Full-time position: Minimum of 20–22 clinical sessions per week
  • Part-time position: Minimum of 12–15 clinical sessions per week

Founder and Clinical Director of Creative Arts Therapy Source

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site clinical therapy services to clients of Creative Arts Therapy Source, as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.
  • Be properly licensed and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for Creative Arts Therapy Source.
  • Respond to clients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours.
  • Communicate with a client’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school, etc.) as necessary.
  • Timely completion of written records for each client including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by Creative Arts Therapy Source or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the client within a timely fashion.
  • Keep client files accurate and up to date.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and training as directed by Creative Arts Therapy Source.
  • Conduct and regulate counseling services in a professional manner so as to maintain and increase the trust and reputation of Creative Arts Therapy Source. Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.
  • Align with Creative Arts Therapy Sources’ mission, vision, and values.
  • Must be punctual in reporting to work.
  • Master’s Degree in creative arts therapy (modality: art, movement or drama); and active, unrestricted license (LCAT or eligible for Limited Permit) in the State of NY. A copy must be provided to Creative Arts Therapy Source.
  • Available to hold at least 22 patient sessions per week (if full time), or 15 sessions per week (if part time), provided such sessions are scheduled by Creative Arts Therapy Source.
  • Be organized and detail oriented.
  • Be able to work independently on tasks assigned.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate has a Masters degree and is a NY State Fully Licensed Creative Arts Therapist or eligible for Limited Permit
  • Has experience and enjoys working with children (ages 4+) and teens
  • Has experience and passion for treating those who have grief, anxiety, ADHD.
  • Excellent and timely submission of clinical note writing.
  • Excellent communication, clinical and organizational skills
  • Experience using Simple Practice EHR and Google Suite programs or willingness to learn
  • Is comfortable with technology
  • Has the ability to complete progress notes and all chart documentation within specified time frames.
  • Has the ability to commute to Garden City office location
